"Speak up and Tell On Predators"
BREAK THE SILENCE....BREAK THE CYCLE
Empower Children
Educate children through age appropriate reading materials sending a positive message in a funtext. I strongly recommend therapist Erin Dolgan's award winning children's book, "PLEASE KNOCK!"
Help build their self esteem and self confidence.
Teach them "safety promises" such as....."I promise not to keep a secret from my Mom or Dad, no matter who asks me" and "I know it's wrong for an adult to ask me to keep a secret."
Prevent Tragedy Before It Strikes
Listen to your children and watch for warning signs of sexual abuse. An abused child often will deny they have been sexually abused.
Do not assume your child will not fall victim to their prey. Predators have been manipulating the parents of their victims for years by gaining their trust.
Have open discussions regularly with your child so they feel comfortable talking to you, and should they need to come to you if they are ever sexually abused or confronted.
Be more cautious about the individuals closest to your child and do not assume the unimaginable will not happen with those close to you and your child.
Empower You
Be proactive and do not ignore the statistics, and let your child become one.
Be more cautious of the individuals spending the most time with your child.
Stop protecting the predator and accept who they really are.
It's never too late to get help if you are a past victim who did not receive counseling or are still keeping "that secret."
Please, get help for your child no matter what the circumstances are and who the perpetrator is.
